Participants of the 7th National Championship of End-to-End Working Professions of High-Precision Industries held in Yekaterinburg utilized Intamsys Funmat HT 3D printers allowing the use of refractory polymers.
The championship was organized by the Agency for the Development of Professional Skills (WorldSkills Russia) with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the Government of the Sverdlovsk region. It was attended by over five hundred representatives of leading Russian companies, including state corporations Rostec, Rosatom, and Roscosmos, CJSC Transmashholding, Evraz, Russian Railways, and others.
Participants of the championship demonstrated skills in thirty-nine professional competencies divided into five blocks: production and engineering, information and communication, construction, service sector, transport and logistics.
In the Additive Manufacturing skill competition, the contestants modeled and printed products on Intamsys Funmat HT 3D printers provided by one of the competition's sponsors, Z-Axis. The additive systems are equipped with high-temperature extruders and heated chambers with active temperature control which allow processing a wide range of polymer materials, including refractory engineering thermoplastics such as polyetheretherketone (PEEK) and polyetherimide (PEI, Ultem).
Prizes in the Additive Manufacturing competence were taken by:
1st place: Maxim Minnibaev (SIBUR);
2nd place: Alexander Tsypushkin (Evraz);
3rd place: Vladimir Bolgov (Roscosmos).
The Funmat HT is the base desktop model in the Intamsys lineup of high temperature 3D printers, which also includes the Funmat Pro 410 and Funmat Pro 610 HT industrial systems. Since entering the market in 2016, the Funmat HT remains one of the most affordable devices for 3D printing with refractory filaments. In 2019, it was upgraded with an array of enhancements, including a redesigned extruder, an auto leveling function, four individual drivers for the filament feed mechanism and XYZ axes, and a new print bed made of glass-ceramic instead of borosilicate glass in the original version.
